Bujinkan Nintai Jisei Dojo
Training at the Nintai Jisei Dojo follows the traditional Japanese model of "copy." The instructor demonstrates something several times. The students do their best to copy. The instructor observers, may make some comments, and then may demonstrate again.
It is the student's job to perceive as much as possible in the demonstration and bring that to their attempts to copy what they see and experience. It is not the norm that an instructor will explain things directly, particularly early in a student's training.
Class usually covers the use of weapons and empty handed techniques. There may be a theme overall, but it is not always explicitly stated. Weapons are the backbone of training, as it was their usage on the battlefield that formed all the techniques of the nine traditions.
The emphasis is on learning the underling fundamentals (kisso) of techniques. Understanding these things is an in depth study, rather than simply glossing over many techniques at a surface level.
